Supply Chain Management
Supply Chain Management is a management position of many interconnected businesses that are involved with the process of a supply chain. Supply chains include the process of obtaining and storage of raw materials, processing, and the finished product of goods from the point of origin to the point of consumption. Supply Chain Managers are in charge of planning, directing and coordinating the equipment and people needed in order to successfully manufacture products.
Supply Chain Managers often divide their time between the production floor and their offices. While on the production floor they are in charge making sure everything is going to plan and following proper procedures and codes. While in the office, their time is generally spent meeting with managers and colleagues in different positions throughout the company.
A good candidate for a career as a Supply Chain Manager is someone who has experience in production and a college-level degree in management, business administration, or engineering. Supply Chain Managers need to have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to delegate and manage several employees at once.
