Psychology
What To Expect
A psychology expert studies the human mind by investigating the emotional, physical, cognitive, and social aspects of human behavior. Using this information, a psychology expert is able to assist individuals who need help coping with day-to-day issues as well as those who are suffering from mental or physical illnesses. Psychology experts typically conduct a number of tests and interviews in order to determine the needs of their clients and then develop relevant treatment and intervention programs.
Recommended Qualifications
In order to practice psychology, you generally need to earn a minimum of a master's degree in the field. Many states, however, require individuals to obtain a minimum of a Ph.D. in the field before they can practice. In addition to obtaining the proper educational level, most states also require psychologists to become licensed. The requirements for licensure vary from state to state. Therefore, it is important to research the requirements for the state in which you wish to work in order to be certain you are taking the proper steps.
