Personal Training/Fitness
What To Expect
A personal training/fitness professional works with individual clients in order to help them develop and implement a fitness program. Although many personal training/fitness professionals work in gyms, many also go to the homes of their clients and provide individualized training in that setting as well. In addition to developing exercise routines for their clients, personal training/fitness professionals also demonstrate proper techniques and monitor their clients to make certain they are using the proper form and are progressing toward achieving their goals.
Recommended Qualifications
In order to become a personal training/fitness professional, you need to become certified in the field. If you wish to specialize in a particular area of fitness, such as yoga or pilates, you will need to undergo additional experience within that particular area. Many employers also require personal training/fitness professionals to obtain certification in the field. For those who wish to start their own personal training/fitness business, obtaining certification is an important step toward gaining the trust of potential clients.
