Massage Therapy

What To Expect

The world of massage therapy is rapidly growing as the population is becoming more aware of the associated health benefits. Not only is massage therapy used as a relaxation technique, it is also used for rehabilitation and as a treatment for chronic pain. Massage therapists work in sport and fitness centers, spas and chiropractic offices.

Massage therapists generally work in a quiet and relaxing environment. Their job involves working with different patients and helping them to alleviate pain and tension. In order to do this, massage therapists must be calm individuals with the ability to help their patients relax. Many are self-employed or work part-time. Self-employed massage therapists generally own their own business or work as independent contractors.
