A justice business tech utilizes computers and computer-related tools to assist with solving crimes. By combining their knowledge of the law with their computer skills, justice business techs are able to conduct a significant amount of investigation with the help of computers. After earning a justice business tech degree, it is possible to pursue a variety of different law enforcement career paths. This may include working as a patrol officer, a detective, or a criminal investigator.

In order to work as a justice business tech, you must earn a criminal justice degree with an emphasis on technology or you may pursue a degree that is specific to the career. In either case, a two year associate's degree is generally adequate for getting started in the field. Those who wish to advance in their careers, however, are generally better served by earning a bachelor's degree. After earning a degree, it is also necessary to successfully complete training at a police academy.

A good candidate for a career as a justice business tech is someone who has good analytical skills as well as an interest in the law. Those who are in good physical condition and enjoy working with the public are particularly well suited to the career.
