International Business

An international business specialist conducts business with other companies and organizations from around the world. While an international business specialist may travel from one location to the next in order to foster a stronger relationship with businesses in foreign markets, he or she may also oversee facilities located somewhere outside of the United States.

In order to obtain a position as a business executive, it is generally necessary to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in business. Companies with overseas markets, however, often require candidates to have a bachelor's degree that is specifically in international business. When pursuing this degree, coursework includes finance, marketing, and other courses that are typically associated with business s well as those which focus on understanding and working within foreign markets.

A good candidate for a pursuing an international business degree is someone who has an interest in business management as well as an interest in working or traveling to foreign markets. Those who possess good leadership skills and are able to understand and appreciate other cultures are particularly well suited to this career.
