In order to become a top executive who is also a global management professional, you need to earn a minimum of a bachelor's degree in business or you may need to obtain a bachelor's degree in a specific area with a concentration in business. Those wishing to be engineering executives, for example, generally obtain a bachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis on business. You will also need to work toward obtaining certification in global management or you will need to take coursework in this area if you hope to make yourself more marketable in the world of business.

A good candidate for a top executive position with an emphasis on global management is someone who has good leadership skills and who works well under pressure. You also need to be open minded and willing to adjust to other cultures. Those who have strong business and communication skills as well as the desire to work with businesses around the world are particularly well suited to this career.
