Avionics
What To Expect
Avionics is a highly technical field combining math and science with electronic and mechanical aptitudes. Technicians are responsible for the installation, examination and maintenance of aircraft equipment. Avionics workers may work in airplane hangers or outdoors due to the immense size of the aircraft. They may have to work on ladders or lifts while fitting into tight spaces to inspect and repair equipment. Aircrafts are very tightly scheduled so the work must often be done as quickly as possible at all hours of the day or night and overtime is a common practice.
