Animation
What To Expect
Animation is a growing field, as video games require more sophisticated graphics and motion pictures utilize more animation. Animators must be artistic and creative with the ability to draw by hand and utilize computers to create images. Animators create storyboards, which are used to convey the message without the actual filming taking place. Others work to create three-dimensional objects that appear to move by being filmed in a series of consecutive poses.
The work environment is often team oriented, so excellent communication skills are a must. Some work independently and are self-employed while others work in more corporate office settings. These creative jobs often require getting your hands dirty to mold, sculpt, build or paint your creations to bring them to life for others. Experience and education in project management is helpful to advance in these competitive careers.
