Turn Your Passion into Your Profession
Imagine a job where you can work on motorcycles, learn about motorcycles, work with other people who love motorcycles, and get paid well to do it. Working on bikes in your garage on weekends is one thing. Working on bikes as a professional motorcycle technician in a dealership or your own shop is another. It doesn’t have to be a dream. Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI), the motorcycle division of UTI, can help you get there. MMI programs provide the knowledge and skills you need to become a successful entry-level motorcycle technician.
Intense Core Training Programs
MMI’s 36-week core program starts with basic mechanics and teaches you everything you need to know about motorcycles. You’ll learn about: engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, engine troubleshooting, noise diagnosis, and performance. You’ll learn how to use specialized diagnostic, repair, and maintenance equipment. You’ll work on many different makes. You’ll get the hang of dealership operations and you’ll learn the business skills you need to make your career a long and successful one.
Premium Manufacturer Training Programs
When you complete the core program, you can choose to add Harley-Davidson® Late or Early Model Training, BMW MotorRad, Honda HonTech®, Kawasaki K-Tech Specialist, Suzuki Factory Authorized Suzuki Training (FAST), or Yamaha YamPro® training elective programs. Here you’ll learn more about the maintenance and mechanics of motor bikes you love to make you even more sought after in the workforce.
Support You Can Depend On
When you decide to attend MMI, you take a big step toward your career. MMI can help make that career transition easier for you. Everyone needs a little help when pursuing their dreams, so MMI offers support to students beyond the classroom. The MMI Student Services offices are available to help you and your family maintain a balance while you’re investing in your career. They offer:
Housing Assistance

Employment Services
The Employment Services department will provide a list of job openings that you can use to find work while you are going to school. MMI has hundreds of employers who regularly hire their students.
Financial Aid
When you enroll at MMI, the Financial Aid Department will help you get all the grants, low-interest loans, and private financing that you qualify to receive.
