Real World Training For Radio And TV

International College of Broadcasting (ICB) teaches students to enter the competitive fields of Radio and Television with its intensive programs employing practical, hands-on training in modern, well equipped facilities.

Located just a few minutes' drive from the center of Dayton, Ohio, ICB was established in 1968 and has developed the technological focus of its programs to match the growing sophistication of media. Its programs lead to an Associate's Degree or a Diploma in a variety of concentrations, and the school is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology.

ICB's Leading Edge Curriculum

The broadcasting industry is rapidly evolving, and its professionals need to be at the cutting edge of advances in technology and communications. ICB's curriculum reflects the need for skills in business and the technical aspects of production, and its Communication Arts program is designed to offer a rounded academic balance to complement applied courses.

Communication Arts in Radio and Television (Associate's Degree)

This program is a comprehensive introduction to careers in radio and television, particularly for entry level positions in small and medium broadcast markets. It includes a particular focus on business and technology that allows students scope to work in a wide range of commercial and industrial communications areas.

Communication Arts in Video Production / Recording Audio Engineering (Associate's Degree)

This program seeks to restore a balance between the disciplines of video and audio production, giving equal emphasis to both aspects as independent areas of expertise as well as their role as a combined art. The course reflects the growing importance of quality audio in forms such as music video, and students gain real-world experience of studio production to complement theoretical training.

Classes in both these Associate's Degree programs are deliberately kept small to promote classroom interaction, and the courses are available full time (over four fifteen week semesters) or part time, and on a day or evening schedule.

Recording Audio (Diploma)

This versatile program suits students with little musical experience as well as those who have already worked in a studio. Its main focus is on the use of professional recording equipment, including controlling consoles, mixing, tape editing, dubbing, working with live sound and remote recording and commercial production. A foundation in music theory and history, music publishing, copyrighting and other business essentials completes the course, which is available on a day or evening schedule over two fifteen week semesters.

Broadcasting (Diploma)

This program is a basic introduction to working in radio and television, and students have the opportunity to select a concentration in their preferred medium. It suits those who may already have completed a degree and wish to develop a specific skill set that does not include management, programming or advanced broadcasting techniques. This course is also available during the day or evening over three fifteen week semesters.
