Paralegal profession
The legal profession has grown increasingly dependent on the skills of trained paralegals to provide and support a variety of services for which attorneys are accountable. Paralegal Certificate
Designed for college graduates, this streamlined program provides education in the most employable and demanding areas of the law. Full-time students can earn a certificate in 7 months and can receive 30 college semester credit hours. Class work includes introduction to law and ethics; interviewing and investigation; legal research and writing; civil procedure; personal injury; computers and the law; corporate and business law; family law; real estate; and intellectual property.
Associate of Applied Science (AAS)
This program provides comprehensive preparation for a paralegal career for those who have a minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Full-time students can complete the program in 15 months and earn 62 college semester credit hours. Classes are equivalent to certificate work, with the addition of English composition; general psychology; wills, trusts, and probate; American government; speech communication; anatomy and physiology; immigration law; and business math.

One option you can explore is the Center’s Externship program, where you receive practical, on-the-job experience that can refine training skills and build confidence as you look for permanent work.
