Most of its courses are available full or part time with day time or evening schedules - so you can earn your qualification even if you work a regular job.

Practical Training In Beauty Techniques

Aveda Institute is based in locations in north-east and south Philadelphia, as well as on the University of Pennsylvania's Philadelphia campus. Programs include:

• Cosmetology: Available full-time over 42 weeks or part-time over 63 weeks, this course comprises 1250 hours theoretical training and practical skills in hair cutting, coloring and texture treatments, skin care services and make-up techniques. Students also acquire a foundation of skills needed for running a business.
• Esthiology: This full-time, 10 week course teaches techniques in treatments that revive and cleanse the skin, with hands-on training to complement theory with practice. Business and retail training is also included.
• Manicuring: A highly structured program of instruction in the theory and practice of hand care and nail treatments. This course is available in day-time or evening classes over a seven week schedule.
• Teacher's Program: Available over 17 weeks (daytime) or 25 weeks (evening), this course prepares students to apply for license as cosmetology instructors.
