Graduates of the Atlanta School of Massage may find themselves working in a health club, destination or day spa, holistic health center, on a cruise ship, in a psychology or social work office, with athletes in a sports facility, with a chiropractor or acupuncture practitioner, or in private practice just about anywhere in the world.

At the core of the Atlanta School of Massage therapy program is a commitment to a holistic, integrated approach to massage therapy. The program consists of foundation courses that combine the scientific knowledge of the body, a variety of massage techniques, and the necessary communication skills and business practices to create an optimally effective massage therapist. In addition to classroom training, a clinical practicum course features invaluable supervised experience providing massage services to the public. Atlanta School of Massage understand that it is not just knowing massage technique that creates an effective and successful massage therapist, but a client-centered philosophy where each client enjoys a unique interview, assessment, and treatment experience.

Advanced certifications in demand

Graduates of Atlanta School of Massage are certified to practice professional massage therapy and are eligible to take the national certification examination for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. In addition, Atlanta School of Massage can award five advanced certifications, all carefully selected to respond to the demands of the market, in Neuromuscular Therapy, Swedish Massage and Deep Tissue Therapy, Spa Therapies, Reflexology, and Seated Massage. And the ability to deliver appropriate pressure with minimal effort is the mark of an Atlanta School of Massage graduate and a distinctive feature of its signature integrated style.

Over 4,000 students have graduated from Atlanta School of Massage, which is privately owned and operated with a caring family atmosphere. Massage therapy training classes feature an integrated approach to teaching that includes maximizing learning and retention in the classroom, comprehensive reviews prior to all examinations, advanced courses in a framework of seamless integration, and opportunities for real-world experience under close supervision in the student clinic. Faculty and staff participate in a shared vision of excellence, with highly skilled professionals, all certified practicing massage therapists, undergoing a rigorous teacher-training program and ongoing refresher courses.

World class facility and diversity

Classes and student clinics take place at a 30,000 square foot facility in a suburb of Atlanta, with fully equipped classrooms, a teaching clinic, a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy suite, spa lab, student library, and bookstore. Class sizes remain small, averaging twelve students per instructor for massage classes. Students represent diversity in age, nationality, and career backgrounds, with many other states and foreign countries represented. A majority have had some college experience, many with degrees and successful professional careers. Dedicated to the advancement of the field of Massage Therapy, Atlanta School of Massage partners in research with the Neurology Department at Emory University, and has been nationally accredited since 1988.
