Reach Your Potential, Go to College

Don’t think college is the right choice for you? Think again.

High school is soon coming to an end and you haven’t completely decided what your future plans will be. Maybe you think college just isn’t your thing. Maybe you think you can’t afford to go. Maybe you already have a job lined up that you are content with.

No matter what your reason is for not going to college, there is a way to make it happen. There are specialized training schools that teach you exactly what you need to know, and therefore you won’t feel like you’re wasting your time. There is financial aid available to help you with the funding for college. And that job you’ve got lined up? If you think you want to be doing that for the rest of your life – think again.

So maybe sitting in a classroom listening to lectures is not your thing. Maybe you’ve never really done well in school and you don’t see yourself as the typical college student. There are many trade schools all over the country that offer short-term training for many different careers. You don’t need to feel like you can’t succeed after high school just because you’re not as studious as your peers. You can attend college, learn a trade that suits you and continue on to a successful career.

Maybe money is the problem. Especially in today’s world, it’s tough to come up with money for everyday expenses, let alone college. Put your worries aside. There is government funding and financial aid available for qualified students. Most schools offer scholarships and other grants and have financial aid advisors to help you apply for it.

So you’ve got yourself a good job and don’t see the need to attend college. It may suit you well for now, but think ahead one, five, ten years. Do you think you will still want to be doing what you are doing now? It’s no secret that college graduates make more money than those with just high school diplomas. The United States Census Bureau reports that college graduates with a bachelor’s degree make around $25,000 more a year than those with just a high school diploma. Does $25,000 more a year sound worth it to you?

Take the time to seriously evaluate your situation. Think ahead to the future, what do you see yourself doing? If you don’t see yourself doing what you are doing now, then it’s time to make some changes. Don’t sell yourself short. This is your life and it’s time to take advantage of it. Go to college, further your education and knowledge of the world, and lead a better life because of the choices you make now.
