About Us
The Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences cultivates health, well-being and inner harmony with a program offering instruction in traditional Chinese medicine within the context of Chinese culture. A private, non-profit institute, the Academy’s principal purpose is to enable students to obtain a license to practice acupuncture, as well as acupressure, herbal prescription, Taiji Quan, and meditation. The curriculum encourages the philosophy that through the healing of oneself, one can understand how to heal others, with an emphasis on cultivation of the intellect and the comprehension of human nature.
Traditional Chinese Medicine program
The Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences is a graduate level traditional Chinese medical school offering a Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. While the Academy’s principal purpose is to enable students to obtain a license to practice acupuncture, the program offers a wide range of courses including training in acupuncture, alternative medicine, massage therapy, reflexology, physical therapy, and rehabilitation. The Academy provides students with clinical training in traditional Chinese medical skills in its teaching clinic, where students advance from observer, to pre-intern, to intern after a successful evaluation by the clinic supervisor and manager. In addition, the Academy is approved by the California Acupuncture Board as a continuing education provider for licensed acupuncturists.
